In Siloé, a neighborhood of Cali in Colombia, poverty and marginalization are as evident as pride, resilience, and community spirit. For more than 40 years, local resident and activist David Gómez has been collecting, documenting, and reflecting on the history of Siloé's residents from the subaltern perspective of "popular y pobre". The Museo Popular de Siloé, the only museum in Siloé to date, not only houses an extensive collection of objects, relics, and photographs depicting everyday life in Siloé, but also played a crucial role in documenting the brutal state violence that occurred during the Colombian National General Strike of 2021. The detailed research conducted by the museum's team led to the creation of the Tribunal Popular en Siloé, a civil society tribunal focused on truth and justice.
